“Medical Robot Research Group”, the predecessor of Medicaroid, was formed by Yasuhiko Hashimoto, the current president/CEO of Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd, and Kaoru Asano, the current president of Sysmex Corporation.
2013
Medicaroid was founded as a joint venture of Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Sysmex.
Yasuhiko Hashimoto was appointed as the President.
Marketing activities were started to research the utilization possibility of robots in medical settings.
2015
In response to the increased needs of minimally-invasive surgery which lessens the patients’ physical burden, the development of a robotic-assisted surgery system was started.
Medicaroid, Inc. was established in the US.
2016
The head office was moved to International Medical Device Alliance (IMDA) in Kobe Biomedical Innovation Cluster.
2017
”SOT-100 Vercia™”, a robotic operating table with the industrial robot technology, was released as a trigger to enter the medical industry.
2020
Obtained Japanese regulatory approval for the “hinotori™ Surgical Robot System” (hereinafter referred to as “hinotori™”).
The “hinotori™” was used for the first time in clinical practice.
Kaoru Asano was appointed as the President.
Medicaroid Europe GmbH was established in Germany.
Training center ”MIL™ - Kobe” was opened.
Head Office Service Center was opened.
