Medicaroid Corporation was founded as a joint venture by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (KHI), a leader in robotic technologies, and Sysmex Corporation, a healthcare company with the expertise of diagnostic devices and a vast network in the medical industry.
We aim to provide robots which serve and assist humans rather than replace them.
We envision a society where all patients, their families, and healthcare professionals can live with peace of mind, through our medical robots.
Robotic assisted surgery in Japan is gaining attention after the revised reimbursement in 2018, in which the scope of insurance-covered robotic surgery was expanded from 2 surgical procedures to 14(gastrointestinal, gynecology, pulmonology, etc.).
Medicaroid utilizes the combined technology and knowledge of KHI and Sysmex for the development of a robotic assisted surgical system, and is building an organization for the marketing, development, manufacturing, and servicing of medical robots.
At the 30th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Endoscopic Surgery in Kyoto in December 2017, President Yasuhiko Hashimoto had the opportunity to lecture on the future of medical practice created by medical robots titled, "Envision Healthcare 30 Years From Now."
